Mrs. Helen A. (Van Pelt) Hanson, age 63, of West Lebanon, died suddenly Monday, Feb. 9 1976 in her home. Death was attributed to heart attack. Mrs. Hanson was born on December 2, 1912, near Marshfield, daughter of Charles and Ethel Wurtsbaugh Van Pelt, she was a life-long resident of the West Lebanon community where she married Lawrence (Bun) Hanson in 1933. A 1933 graduate of West Lebanon High School, Mrs. Hanson was postal clerk in West Lebanon for 30 Years, retiring in July, 1970. She was a member of the Warren County Democratic Women's Club and active on the election board. Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Mary Ethel Nixon, Rt. 2, Covington, Mrs. Lila Marshall, Rt. 2, Williamsport, and Mrs. Patsy Lou Van Pelt, Lafayette; one son, Albert Carl Hanson, Rt. 2, Covington; seven brothers, L. D. and Kenneth E. Van Pelt, Rt. 2, Williamsport, Charles R., Austin L., and William D. Van Pelt, Rt. 2, Covington; A. C. Van Pelt Cambridge City and Harold L. Van Pelt, Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Coats, Brookston and Mrs. Betty Chambers, West Lebanon; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral at the Fisher Funeral Home in West Lebanon with the Reverend Grover Williams officiating. Burial in the West Lebanon Cemetery. - jlr
